Interior Design

We have the knowledge to select the right materials and an eye to pick out the perfect colors. The result is an interior environment that blends seamlessly with the design of the building yet still makes a statement.

Furniture, Furnishings, and Equipment

Barker Architects can manage the Furniture, Furnishings, and Equipment aspect as well. We start planning the interior as early in the design process as possible. We interview the client to find out their wants and needs, how they feel about the physical space, and what they envision. We then create a design concept that is functional, safe, and esthetically pleasing.

The selections for paint, finishes, furniture, and other equipment occur and are presented for approval to the client. We have a system for creating specifications and bid documents that ensures the best quality product for the best possible price from our vendors. We track the items in a database that supplies us with up-to-date budgets before the bid and becomes an asset management tool after implementation. All of these phases are parts of our goal… to satisfy any client.

Tenant Fit-Up

Our creative skills with colors and textures make us uniquely qualified for tenant fit-ups where innovation and image can have a dramatic affect on the client's success. We have a wide range of experience including: jewelry stores, financial offices and various stores at retail malls such as the Fox Run Mall, the Steeplegate Mall, and the Pheasant Lane Mall.

In this usually fast-paced project type, we perform a site evaluation to look at the existing conditions, discuss the needs and wants with the client, and determine the scope of the project. We work closely with managers as well as leasing and managing offices to make sure that the design meets the facility standards in addition to any applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations. The result is space with a functional design and a strong marketing image.
